David B.B. Benningfield has been playing the guitar since 1987 in a variety of bands over the years in cities throughout the states of Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee. B.B. enjoys many genres of music but favors Rock, Southern Rock, and Hard Rock. He has written and recorded many original songs over the years and is still active in the local band, STR8FWD. In STR8FWD, B.B. is the only guitar player and the band plays plenty of covers for the local and regional scene and can be spotted playing just about every weekend. B.B. and the band have started working on their original material to add to the show.
B.B. has taught many students to play guitar over the years, even when he was at a young age. Not having a traditional teacher when he started, he found a teaching structure that has helped students learn at a faster rate. This teaching method is a structure of how he would have wanted to learn when he started playing the guitar.
Not only does B.B. play and teach guitar but now he is writing books; with two completed. The first book is a guitar instruction book called “The Basics - Guitar Instruction” and is available for purchase on this site. Just look under the tab "Books". The newest book is a children’s book called “Little Silver Learns the Music Alphabet” and will be available for sale soon.
With the band STR8FWD playing live, a busy teaching schedule, and now writing books, B.B. is staying busy with his music passion.
